Food and Wine
The Salen Hotel offers a wide-ranging menu to suit all tastes. Whether you are a meat eater or a vegetarian we have something to satisfy your hunger.
From local venison, fish and seafood to the best in Scottish beef and lamb, we pride ourselves on the fresh home cooked nature of our food.
There are two different dining areas within the hotel, the more formal Dining room for those who want a quiet meal and also the sun room where you can watch to world go by and the weather change every minute. Either way the menu remains the same whichever room you choose. Please note that should you wish to eat in the dining room it is highly advisable to book a table in advance. This is also the case for any table during the summer months, as we do get booked a few days in advance.
"The new proprietors of Salen Hotel drew praise for providing meals for more than 20 men at very short notice late in the evening. One Cork man declared that it was the best steak he had eaten, adding: 'Sure, it was worth the journey just for that.'"
